Why no Region 1 DVD?

I remember this flick when it first came out and this is one one of the many reasons am against the DP. It use to play on TV every once in a while, to satisfy my need to see it again and again. But I haven't seen it in years on TV. Why isn't this movie out on DVD in the states? I find some many movies good and bad that I want to see is released only in region 2, how come we never get to see them here? Something needs to be done about ths region foolishness. THey make some 0 region films why not make them all like that?

...the whole reason there are regions at all is because the mpaa wants more money...
...they dont want people in one country selling movies to people in other countries...
...there shouldnt be any regions...
...and in many places they use region 0...
...but the people who own the film rights decide...
...and if they dont think there is enough interest to justify the release they wont sell it...
