There is a very similar sketch, where the roles are reversed - and - Ronnie Corbett is a customer, from a foreign land, with poor English, going into a grocery shop, trying to buy things like '2ast' (meaning toast) and 'marmalladee' (meaning marmalade). Everything he tries to pronounce, confuses Ronnie Barker - but - the words used are a very clever 'play on words'.
