i always thought of cartoons to be living in a time warp, where 1 single year of there lives are looked at throughout the course of the series.
but then, why do some shows celebrate christmas more than once in a year? and why would a character have the same birthday for the same age more than once a year?
and how is it that luanne of king of the hill, how is it she went from 17 to 21 over the course of the 13 seasons, while bobby went from either 11 or 12, to 13.
i think its best just to say, there cartoons.
the whole point of a cartoon is to do things you normally wouldn't see on a live-action series.
but if thats true, then what was the point of H.R. Pufnstuf? or the dinosaurs?
those are live-action shows, trying to emulate cartoons.
or peewee's playhouse.
actually, who is to question reality to begin with? where does reality begin, and fantasy starts?
are WE the cartoons to the outsider?
or are they cartoons to us?
if we get hurt, if we get sad, if we get mad, are we ever truly feeling it?
or is the writing demanding it?

On a similar note, anyone who's ever watched a soap knows about SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome). Same concept. Nuff said. ;)

Yes Pebbles was older than she should have been but I still loved the show and enjoyed it. I would watch it if it came back on.
Regarding Pebbles being older in the spinoff than in the original series, look at "Tabitha" where Tabitha and Adam were much older than they were in the original series.
