The show was suppose to spotlight Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as boyfriend and girlfriend, but if you ask me, I think they were nothing more than just friends, cause the way they were acting, it sure as hell wasn't BF/GF, so to me, they were just friends. At least until, "I Yabba Dabba Do!"

An episode of the original Flintstones show has Pebbles and Bamm Bamm in the future and they married then as well.
To be fair, Fred also had a dream where Pebbles ran off and married Arnold, the paperboy.
It was always insinuated Pebbles would be with Bamm Bamm, and maybe that worked against any teen romance with the two.
In another old episode of the Flintstones, when the Flintstones are feuding with the Hatrocks, there was better hinting of love between Pebbles and the baby Hatrock kid than there ever really was with Pebbles and Bamm Bamm.
To be fair, in the second hatrock episode Bamm-Bamm does get jealous when Slab Hatrock is with Pebbles.
Plus isn't in at the end of the flashback episode baby Pebbles kisses Bamm-Bamm on the cheek?
I'd say they were sewing seeds of it a bit back then. This series in the typical HB way implies a love interest but doesn't really do much with it in terms of plot or anything.

It seems there was greater hints at romance in the babies' future on the Flintstones, which was an early sixties primetime show, as compared to the Saturday morning cartoon version, five years later after the primetime version ended.
