This was unquestionably one of my very favorite cartoons when I was a kid, one that I really looked forward to watching each week. In addition to being a great venue for the Jackson brothers' shenanigans, the psychedelic, Yellow Submarine-influenced musical sequences were utterly hypnotic. A year or two ago, I pulled out a tape of a marathon of the show that MTV aired in the '90s. The jokes are corny, the laugh track is obtrusive and the show's very firmly stuck in the '70s... but man, oh man, those groovy scenes with the songs are still hypnotic! I'd love to have the complete series remastered on DVD, though with all the stupid music licensing b.s. these days, it'll probably never happen.
I just got all the episodes on dvd today (recorded, I don't think there's an official release yet). This show was on way before I was even born, but I fondly remember watching this show, on I think it was Sunday or Saturday mornings (whatever station rebroadcast them for a while). At the time it didn't even occur to me to tape it. Does anyone here know if Michael ever voiced an opinion one way or another about this show?
