Electric Company Reunion

I wish--although I probably shouldn't hold my breath--that they would do some type of "Electric Company" reunion (while Rita Moreno, Morgan Freeman,Bill Cosby and others of advanced ages are still with us).

This show was so much fun and had memorable sketches and songs that 35 plus years are STILL in my head from when I saw and heard them in the 70's.But Morgan Freeman who has gone on to movie stardom probably never wants to revisit those days in his career.

Rita Moreno, though,is still proud of the show and even Bill Cosby would probably do it too.I would love to see Hattie Winston,Lee Chamberlain,Luis Avalos,Skip Hinnant,Judy Graubart and the others who are still alive all these years later to celebrate the show.

All the baby boomer fans of this cult classic should do some type petition like they did for getting Betty White to do the Saturday Night Live show. The nostalgia would get some studio to get Children's Television Workshop to gather the alumni.

Afterall--The original Sesame Street never ended since it started in 1969 and a bunch of the original cast is STILL there after 43 years!--And they look great. They still look much like their old selves!

Uh what do you mean by baby boomer fan?

Anyone born durring that era would have been past the target age for TEC.

reply

Yeah--I don't know if that's called the Baby Boomer age or the Generation X age.

I was six when the show first came on and watched it all the years after that.

I know they call people born right after World War 2 (about 1946 to 1963)'Baby Boomers'---Generation Xers were born in the seventies(I think)---so I don't know what they call people who were at the age of being target fans of "The Electric Company'.

I'd love to see them do one whole episode as a reunion show of new skits. Not to take away from the new show but this one rocked and spent the ENTIRE time teaching. The plots on the new show take up too much time.

reply

Original viewers were Gen X.

Wouldn't be the same without Jim, Luis and Lee.
