Black and white
Why is episode 1 of doctor at large in black and white? And is the whole series in black and white?

As I understand it the reason the first few episodes of the season where filmed in black and white was due to a strike, although I am not sure who was striking. This was at a time when color was still relatively new to British TV, certainly my family didn't get a color TV until the early 80s.
It's unthinkable now that anything would be recorded in black and white for anything other than artistic reasons.
