Cannon reboot

Now that a greater majority of Americans are overweight, wouldn't a Cannon reboot be somewhat popular? I know when it originally aired in the early 70's his weight was kind of a novelty. While, no one could ever fit in William Conrad's extra large slacks, who would be a decent update? And I don't mean in a parody/comedy like the updated Starsky and Hutch! I want a legitimate, serious overweight detective. Any ideas on who could play him

Why do so many of you wasn't these classic shows remade?

Sick to death of hearing about it.

Watch the original. I can't even count the old hits that have been remade and were embarrassing.
