DVD set coming out in May

I preordered the DVD, but am concerned now because the package art and description say the set contains 13 episodes. I assume that means the POWDERKEG pilot movie is not included?

I've seen confirmed elsewhere that the DVD set will include only the 13-episode series and not this pilot movie. I guess a precedent was set for that with DVD sets like HARRY O, KOJAK and KOLCHAK and probably others that didn't include the pilot movies.

I did discover, however, that POWDERKEG is available in three ways: (1) on a cheap collection of movies titled 20 GREAT WESTERNS: HEROES & BANDITS, (2) as a DVD on its own exclusively available from Amazon, or (3) free to stream with Amazon Prime.

I just watched it on Amazon Prime and was underwhelmed. I hope the series is better than the poorly lighted and slow-paced pilot. And despite the claim to being "digitally remastered," the movie was washed out and the picture even rolled and shook at times. That didn't bother me--I grew up watching TV like that in the '70s--but I would feel ripped off if I bought the DVD thinking it would look great.

Still looking forward to next Tuesday's release of BEARCATS!
