Didn't they blow up the boats?

I swear I remember that back when the show was cancelled the cast and crew decided to blow up Nick and Relic's boats, kind of like what the cast and crew did with the houses on Little House On The Prairie (the owner of the land where they filmed wanted the buildings demolished when the show was done so the crew thought the quickest way to do that was blow them up and managed to work it into the finale's storyline). I even remember it being a segment on the national news, with the cast and crew counting down before the big boom.

EXCEPT now I read and see on Wikipedia that the Persephone is on display in Gibson and they are looking for the Relic speedboat.

Anyone remember them blowing up the boats?
