Was it when he was stuck in the basement during a storm and Jefferson had to let him out?

reply

A storm maybe, but Jefferson, no . A different black man, larger, maybe a rescue worker.

Oh, that was the episode where Archie was home alone and got locked in the basement. The door locked from the outside and he couldn't get out.

All he had to drink was a bottle of wine. I think it was supposed to be a gift for Mike and Gloria's anniversary, but he was thirsty.

Archie got drunk and he thought he was dying. He heard someone call to him. It was the man who came to fix the furnace. Archie was on his knees saying something like ,"Okay Lord, I'm ready."

When he looks up and sees a black man, he said, "Forgive me Lord, the Jeffersons was right." lol

The one where Mike's friend was visiting for Thanksgiving and he revealed that he was a draft dodger. Archie was upset at first but then his friend who was a military man said his son was killed in Vietnam and he didn't judge Mike's friend. The one where Mike had an effeminate friend whom people assumed was gay when he wasn't and Archie found out that his macho friend was actually gay and he learned that you can't always judge someone by how they look. The one where Archie got the KKK to stop burning crosses on lawns.

The draft dodger aired in 1976.

So many great episodes! I remember laughing so hard at the episode when Edith's Cousin Maude visits. Archie and Maude hated each other's guts and argued politics even louder than Archie and the Meathead!

There were some after baby Joey was born that were hilarious, like the one where Edith put Archie on a diet and the whole family dieted to keep him company.

Archie ended up counting the peas on Mike's plate saying, "He got more!"
