Gloria's false alarm

I think I might have mentioned this but I am on Gloria's side about Mike having the vasectomy, Mike was such an ass hole about Gloria forgetting to take her pill and putting all of the responsibility on her, he is a hypocrite. I am glad he finally grew some balls and got the procedure done! Who else agrees?

reply

In Mike's defense, she should've told him she had stopped taking the pill.

reply

Sure. Then, he could've worn a rubber.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

People seem to ignore that little detail.

reply

Maybe he was against it?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

She never even mentioned it to him. Then she gets mad at him.

reply

I think he knows about condoms. Lol.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

But not the need for one if she keeps not taking her pill a secret.

reply

I suppose so.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

That's what irritates me about her bitching at him.

reply

She's certainly a nagger.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

She needs to take up drinking.

reply

Or a cock in her.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Well, they shouldn't have had a baby. Seems that cooled their bed down.

reply

Probably cools most beds.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

And bank accounts.

reply

Cause they shop instead? Or divorce wise?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

One, then the other.

reply

One causes the other.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

They plan it. Take the guy for everything they can, then get the lawyers involved for the house.

reply

My buddys girlfriend did the same. Said she was on it and he wire a condom that broke. Nine months later here comes a baby.

reply

Too rough.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Mike got the minister to perform the operation... 

reply

Stephanie's Rabbi.

reply

He was? He must have switched religions...



reply

He was good at multitasking. After he married Al and Trudy he had to get changed and perform a circumcision. Then several months later he gave Mike his vasectomy.

reply

Same actor?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Yah. Same name as one of today's top directors.

reply

What was his name?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Michael Mann.

reply

I just always assumed that it was all part of the special deal in the yellow pages, an entitlement to a free vasectomy operation with the wedding service. Wasn't it explained in the coupon? 

reply

That might promote more pre-marital pregnancies.

reply

Al must have gaven Mike his coupon...



reply

Gaven?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Must be a Yiddish word.

reply

given... 

reply

If that marriage ends in divorce, do you have to have the vasectomy reversed?

reply

I would probably guess no. That's why he switched religions all together. He might of had too many people after him and assumed a new identity too...

reply

Did he trade in his motorcycle for a Lincoln Continental?

reply

...that and along with his $200 from Archie and all the other new members!

Leave it to the Heebs to charge admission to his own religion!



reply

He'll need the money later on ABP (season two) as Rabbi Jacobs will become a target of vandals.

reply

I thought you're only familiar with season one of ABP?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

I've seen them all, except maybe a couple. I do remember that one - the basic premise anyway.

reply

Never seen the episode. Were they the same people who put the swastika on the door?

reply

No. It might've turned out to be kids this time.

reply

Oh, you've seen all the Archie Bunker Places? I didn't know that.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Back in 2001 TVLand showed them all. I recorded them on VHS just to watch it - it was on overnight sometime (I didn't save the recordings), but there were a couple that slipped through my fingers.
One was when he hired the black housekeeper. Turns out she was a relative of the black couple that lived next door (who had different names than they had on AITF).

reply

All in the Family was the WORST with continuity.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

I wouldn't say the worst. I'd call it typical sitcom continuity.

reply

It's the worst I've seen in a sitcom anyway.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Well, look at the several versions of Doug getting the IPS job on King of Queens, for example. And Carrie having a sister who just disappeared.

reply

And Happy Days with the brother or whatever that goes up stairs and never comes back down, the A-team, any show. But, AITF seems particularly bad at continuity.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

All those shows will tweak things just for a particular episode. Edith twisting Archie's ear to keep him quiet (supposedly always doing it but we only see it on that one episode), Gloria always knowing if something's bothering Mike because his left eye twitches (only seen on the Szabo episode), etc...

reply

Those aren't continuity things, though. Just plot devices.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

That's true on the surface but since you never saw it before, or after that, I'd lump it in with continuity.

reply

Eh. Potato, patato

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

Some weirdos say Tomato - tomato.

reply

I don't no why Gloria let Mike talk her into all those weird decisions and parenting styles. He never stopped to think about her. It was always him him him. He never stopped to think that maybe she might like a daughter. Before she met Mike she was a Christian and she was slowly turning into an atheist

reply

Mike was a jerk. And she was a dope for going along with everything.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Another continuity issue - the very first episode had Gloria involved in the "What God?" argument.

reply

She later believed?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

They both confirmed that they were atheists.

reply

What are you, Fletch, and do you practice?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Catholic, but I'm like Archie - I only tend church on special occasions, like weddings and funerals.

reply

Tsk, tsk, tsk. I'm Catholic too, and go every week. Don't you even go on Christmas or Easter? That's what most Italians do.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

My parents were never into that. My grandmother and her sisters used to go to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve every year and show up at our house afterwards, but my parents never went.

reply

Terrible Catholics.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Probably. We never had a bible in the house until my grandmother's house was sold in 2004.

reply

You're going to hell. Lol.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

At least I got to see that amazing Super Bowl game last night before I do.

reply

I thought it was over once the Falcon's were up 28-3. So, I stopped watching.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

A lot of people did. Even some Patriots fans. My question is when will they put rock acts into the halftime show. Lady Gaga? Please.

reply

I'm a big Madonna fan, so I enjoyed Lady Gaga as she reminds me a lot of Her Madgesty. But, before last year with Beyonce, they had acts like Paul McCartney, and Tom Petty, and U2. So, there've been rock in more recent years as well.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Lol. Those "rock acts" you just mentioned weren't what I had in mind.

reply

Enlighten me? Aerosmith did it about 10 or 15 years ago.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

I wouldn't want them. They'd favor their crappy post '85 stuff. Fortunately I saw them in '83.

reply

Who would you expect to play the Super Bowl? Tool? Slipknot?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Lol. No, they'd be a little much for a mainstream audience. Godsmack would be perfect.

reply

Are they even around anymore? And they're not popular enough, probably.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

reply

Sure they are. They played between periods during a Bruins game in Boston once. Unfortunately they shortened the TV broadcast of it.
