Rerun in Ireland

There is a rerun of ASJ in Ireland right now. I used to watch this show when it first aired here when I was about 10 years old. At the time it seemed brilliant and we used to look forward to it. Watching a rerun a few days ago I got so bored with it because all they were doing was hiding in a bush so I changed channel about five minutes after I changed back to see did it liven up any bit, guess what they were still hiding in the same bush. When I think back maybe it was the intro we used watch as that seems to be the best part of it.

The re-runs on TG4 are what have made me an ASJ fan!

This show has been around for almost 40 years but I still think it's brilliant, and this is speaking as a 90's kid. Sure my generation and I are supposed to be mindless slaves to our high tech gizmos and gadgets and blockbuster films with over-paid actors and inadequate storylines but even so, there's no denying that Alias Smith & Jones is good tv!

It's a pity you don't enjoy it anymore, I wish I'd discovered this show years ago.

I've been a fan since the 80s when it ALWAYS seemed to be getting a re-run somewhere (RTE had a turn, then BBC, then RTE again. It may even have been on ITV at one stage - the pilot was.)

I was shocked, when flicking thru the Sky EPG to find that it was airing on TG4 in the Virginian slot. And they are already at the end of s2 :(

What does TG4 normally do? Will they go back to the start again (I want to record them all to DVD) or will they move on to something else?

They're on at least their second run through at the moment. I watched it for the first time in mid-February and it was on the 13th episode of the second season then. Now they're around the same point in season 2, again. I'm hoping they will do at least another round I want to tape the early episodes of season 2 which I haven't got yet(for the record, I would buy them but they're not available on region 2).

To be honest it was better when Pete Duel was in it. The rerun I saw had the original narrator playing Pete's part after Pete died.

I completely agree, I quit watching it after they replaced Pete Duel. Fortunately they're back to Season one on TG4 again :)

Mid-Season 2 on Saturday evenings, now. I'm pretty sure I have them all recorded to DVD now. Yay!

Curious about airing order vs. production order, however.

Thanks, I was wondering where it had gotten to after Bonanza took it's weekday time slot.
