Questions about the movie

After reading all these posts I realised this movie is quite different to Emily Bronte's original story. But I thought the movie itself was touching and bittersweet.. though I wanted to clear up a few things I was a bit confused about..

When Heathcliff left and came back after 3 years, it seemed he became rich and had travelled a bit? How did he get money?

What was the point of Heathcliff seducing Isabel and running off with her? Was it just purely for revenge against Edgar?

Did Cathy die due to complications in her birth? And who exactly was the father of her baby?

Cheers to anyone who answers.

We never are told hot Heathcliff became rich, its just another mystery about him.

Heathcliff planned to get revenge of Edgar and one day get his money/land.

In the book their child takes after Cathy and Edgar having blonde hair so Edgar is the father.

In the book there is never the slightest suggestion that the baby is the child of anyone other than Edgar Linton, or that Cathy had a sexual relationship with Heathcliff.

The stupid line in the movies about Linton "waiting to see the colour of the baby's eyes" made an implication that is nowhere in the books.

Cathy does not simply die in childbirth. She is very ill, presumably with tuberculosis, from which Emily Bronte was herself suffering when she wrote the book.
