My opinion on this adaptation.

It's very faithful to the novel..until the end..Apart from that it was exactly how I imagined it. They really should have made a second full length film for the next generation story with Linton, Cathy (2) and Haerton. I was disappointed that it was left out because it didn't fit into the tragic romance...Heathcliff's bitter behaviour is very important in the end of the novel. He tries to sabotage and take revenge and claim everything. He is completely broken and cares for nobody living..Timothy Dalton did the character a great justice. Brontë would be proud.

I really enjoy this adaptation as well. The locations they used were breathtaking and the cinematography really captured the novel's blend of gothic and realism. And the Legrand score-- oh just so perfectly haunting.
