Two Roger Moore replacements.

Did anyone notice that there are two Roger Moore replacements in this film! Timothy Dalton for Bond and Ian Ogilvy for the Saint.

Well, 'tis a good thing that Roger Moore didn't play either role in this...

the stories behind bond casting are often fascinating to hear about, like dalton being offered the role already in 1969, but turning it down because he thought he was too young, then getting the part in 1987 just because other actors were tied up in contract, i guess that was the right desicion watching this ....zzzzz... movie where he would look a bit pale for the part, and further on this fact, how about that he was suppose to keep playing bond after those 2 movies in the 80's, but broke the contract because it seemed production would never get started on the 3rd. i guess you can say lazenby and dalton could go down in movie history as making the worst career moves ever. if the stories are correct, you hear about five different versions anyway, don't you.

movin around rubble and gray skies,
and when i thought you had left a last goodbye,
in the eve when the fading of rubble and gray,
returns to me looking in that warm way,
babe why don't you smile like you used to,
noone like you keep me from feelin blue,
glow in a dress shinin so bright,
keep me company please then all night.

"then getting the part in 1987 just because other actors were tied up in contract,"

That is just not true. Dalton was offered the role of Bond first. But was busy Filming Brenda Starr. Then Brosnan was asked to Be Bond. By the time Brosnan could not take the role because of NBC. Dalton was able to take the role. So basically it is the other way around. Brosnan almost got the role just because of Dalton being tied up with another film.

"but broke the contract because it seemed production would never get started on the 3rd"

That is not true either. Dalton's contract has expired. Dalton was ready in 91,93 and 94. They kept delaying filming and in that time His contract expired. Dalton had waited long enough. Not Dalton's fault. they had 5 years to get it together.

I never knew anyone replaced Roger Moore in the Saint --- that's a good piece of historical info I never knew --- Roger Moore was terrific as the Saint of course and an excellent Bond --- If you noticed those 2 you mentioned who replaced him in The Saint and 007 both ended up not fairing well ---
