The creation of the moon in this film

I've been told that this film has something about the creation of the moon in it. Is that true, and is that why the shots of the moon in the night sky through cloud all look rather strange? I've just seen the Spanish language version of the film on YouTube.

Thanks.

This is thoroughly enjoyable bunk and junk science of the prehistoric age. The moon was created out of debris spewed into space by the impact of a wandering rogue planet, Theia, estimated to be the size of Mars, into earth when earth was only 500 million years old. The centrifugal force and powerful gravity of the solar system quickly reformed earth into a planet from the shattered chunks in only one month. But the remaining debris coalesced into the moon. That was earth's lucky day. Without a moon to slow the earth's rotation, we'd have a 10.5 hour day instead of 24 hours. Also many more asteroids would have struck the earth.

Just sit back and enjoy the silly prehistoric fun of this movie. I still enjoy reading about dinosaurs, ancient mammals and prehistoric earth and claim to have a sense of humour. That's how you need to enjoy this movie.

I better not watch this movie because I just cannot deal with plot holes. I end up staying awake all night. It just drives me crazy

I saw this movie like two or three times when it was released ... and I don't recall anything about the moon being created.
