Which railway?

Can anyone identify the railway station used? I haven't been able to recognise it; that tunnel mouth and long curve is quite distinctive, but I can't place it.

Any ideas?

As a local lad, I think it's Cromford, in Derbyshire

Yes, it's definitely Cromford, was there today myself.

Check out this website for some info on the film:

Have done much research and have footage of a documentary (never released) relating to "Virgin & The Gypsy" locations: The train is shown arriving on the platform going west toward Matlock: In the shot where the actors are seen alighting and walking up the steps of the footbridge, and the train's departure, was shot on the eastbound platform going toward Derby: Also a "reversed" shot was used where the passengers first commence walking up the steps of the footbridge: - Intriging theatrical licence!

Individuals may also be interested to know that DHLawrence used to travel to Cromford Railway Station either from Ripley (where his sister Ada Clarke lived) or Langley Mill (if visiting family at Eastwood): Although there is no mention of the vicars daughters arriving at a railway station, Christopher Miles decided to include this scene after researching the fact that Lawrence frequently used this station whilst living at Mountain Cottage at Middleton via Worksworth: Also the name of the village was changed in the film (see Westwood Films-2003 (on Facebook): In the novel the village is called Papplewick:
Most of the village scenes were shot at Youlegrave inc. church interiors, & the concert which was filmed in the village hall:
