Anamorphic?

Something I noticed about my DVD of this picture: it appears to be sourced from a VHS tape which appears to be sourced from an anamorphically-squeezed transfer. And the aspect ratio is said here to be 1.85:1. Is the whole picture like this? Just wondering.
