Hated the ending (lame, dissapointing)

Let me see if I get this right: Tibbs is taking Logan into custody sans handcuffs because the two have known each other for years and Tibbs does not see Logan as a flight risk and he wants to spare Logan the shame of being taken away in handcuffs.

So, although I'm not a cop, I do know that the first order of business is to put your prisoner in the back seat, THEN you get into your seat and make your radio call.

However, Tibbs slides into the front seat from the passenger side and makes a radio call while Logan ambles over to the STREET-side to enter the car and gets hit by a passing vehicle! How ridiculous is that???????????

A MUCH better ending would have Logan gunned down by an accomplice of the scummy drug dealing pimp apartment manager. Or better yet, the stupid foot chase ends in the bad guy escaping only to later gun down Logan so he can't turn state's evidence against him. Lame. Completely lame. Logan was a bad guy and deserved to die for his sins, not by accident, much like all the scumbags on death row in Kalifornia who end up dying from cancer or other natural causes.

Logan didn't amble over to enter the car , he purposely walked out into traffic and committed suicide.
