Looking for a copy

Hi there! This movie randomly popped into my mother's head today and I've just spent hours trying to figure out why it's not available and trying to track down a copy. If anyone has any information about how to get a copy, I'd love some help. It'd be a great treat for my mom to see it, and now I'm really interested in checking it out too! Thanks for any help you can send my way!

Hi Cynthia,

No help from me, I'm afraid, but I have seen it on TV. I see that Liza did this right in between Sterile Cuckoo and Cabaret. Rather weird story, a houseful of wounded people, in different ways, learning to get along. Reminded me more than a little of The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, which you may find easier to track down. My favorite part of the film is the song from Pete Seeger. I mean, there you are going along, thinking you are going to see a story, and here's this communist folk singer out singing in the woods. Very weird, but in a very nice way. Me, too, I vote to release this puppy!

Funny thing I grew up right down the street from the Braintree cemetery. One night my sister told me they were making a movie down the street. So we all walked down there. I had pen and pad just in case I saw someone famous. There were people every where and they were just talking. After an hour or so of watching them do nothing, I went home. My sister told me later, one scene where they were driving the car up to the crypt, a couple of the neighbor’s dogs started to chase it. I never saw the movie. I am not sure if it even played in Braintree. We have a big theater and a drive-in (did). They said it had a GP rating but I think it might have been a R. If it did have an R rating I was too young to see it. I did find it for sale on joesclassicmovies.com. I bought it so I can see the scenes of the cemetery.

As for trying to find a copy, joesclassicmovies.com is gone (replaced by a useless search page) and modcinema's site is not working properly. (You can go through the order process but it doesn't complete the final step at the end).

I read the paperback book of this movie back in the 1970's. It had picture of all 3 cast members on the front of the book, so it was after the movie was released. I've never forgotten the book but have never seen the movie and still want to!

(24 hrs. later) I found several people offering copies on ioffer[dot]com I now have one on the way for under $10 including shipping!

I've bought DVD's of other movies/TV shows that have never ever been released on VHS or DVD from sellers on that site that I couldn't find anywhere else: over 100 episodes of the TV series "I Led 3 Lives"; an "ABC Afterschool Special" from 1979; 56 episodes of the 1950's B&W Dragnet TV series, etc.
