REMAKE REMAKE REMAKE REMAKE

This movie should be remade.
There's a lot of room for expansion and storytelling and I feel like the tone was great in this flick.

Michael Fassbender would be perfect as THX.

reply

i second that. would love to see a new director interpret it.

T'is A Battle Feild

reply

Nah.

Not only is the story-telling, as it is, concise but also minimalistic. I think a lot of extraneous "info" would little doubt come at the expense of the profound subtlety that is already there as it was already made.

Make something else instead--something new and original.

Decent people shouldn't post here. They'd be much happier posting somewhere else.

reply

God I hope not.

It was bad enough when Lucas re-released it in 2003, littering it with useless, busy CGI.

Prometheus was disappointment enough. No more sequels/prequels to classics.

reply

You don't have to watch them. If you don't like remakes, sequels, or prequels then don't watch them. Why be an ass and wish them not be made for the people who would enjoy them?

It gets so tiresome hearing people complain about remakes when there is a VERY simple solution. Don't watch it. Are you smart enough for that one? Just don't watch the *beep* movie.

reply

Pfft! It apparently does NOT tire you out enough to keep you from screaming REMAKE THIS! REMAKE THIS! for every film that's like 10 years old or older like a screaming 4 year old!

Too many second-rate remakes! As a result, NOT ENOUGH GOOD, ORIGINAL MATERIAL, stupid handicapped paperboard-thin vacuum-"brain"!

reply

Your emotion seems to put a damper on your rational thinking. I didn't, anywhere in my comment, indicate I scream for, let alone, like, remakes.

Not enough good, original material? Take a look at every single movie that has come out over the past two years and then say there's not good original material.

Apparently your wants outweigh the wants of others. And not only that but they put blinders upon your own eyes and hinder you from seeing clearly.

reply

Oh, please! All they make is *beep*ing remakes anymore and little else that others would enjoy. Now go have an original thought somehow instead of a lame argument, because I'm not going to argue with the likes of you.

reply

Only remakes and movies that only a few people would enjoy? Do you think things through with critical thought or just let your emotion guide your tongue (fingers)?

To discredit you and show you can't be trusted with your arguments I just need one example to blast your blanket statement out of here. hmm... Interstellar.

Yeah, if I were you, I wouldn't want to argue with me either.

reply

What a pompous, judgemental ass you are.

reply

NO NO NO NO Its fine the way it is

reply

Although I agree that there is plenty of room for improvement I find myself thinking "why bother?" THX 1138 is an interesting little movie that is perfectly fine the way it is. Just make another dystopian sci fi movie in the same realm. There are plenty of them out there already with different takes on the same basic premise; Brazil, Eqilibrium and Twelve Monkeys to name a few. No need to remake, just do your own thing. And yes, I recognise that Twelve Monkeys is also technically a remake.

There are so many godawful remakes that seem to pop out of hollywood and sink like a stone these days. We really don't ***need*** any more useless wastes of talent and money. What 'should' happen is we need a new era of Hollywood akin to the Gold and Silver ages.

reply

This could be a good remake for a mini series on showtime, syfy or netflix in 10 or 12 episodes limited.

reply

It was nearly remade about 10 years for the SF channel but never went into production.
