DVD

Anybody know how good the picture on the DVD is? Just curious, because I was surprised that they put this film out on DVD (and, naturally, I would be even more surprised if the picture was remastered, too).
While some other better movies can't even be found on... damn, there I go shooting my mouth again! Anyhow, thanks in advance, yo! Later.

Hey, mondo68, thanks a lot for the answer!

It's very interesting, and a bit curious, what you are saying.

Do you have any idea if they also put the classic 'Not of this Earth', made in the '50s, on DVD?

About 'The Student Nurses': while this DVD may be good, I can't find it anywhere for rent. I guess I'll have to buy it if I want to see it, right?

Cheers!

You read my comment, I see.
Maybe I was a bit harsh, I think. I saw the movie on TV, accidentally, and maybe I didn't expect it to turn out like that, you know. (Based on the beginning, I epected a racy comedy.) Perhaps, if I watch it again, on DVD, I'll appreciate it more.
Thanks, I'll look for 'Night Call Nurses', but these movies are so hard to find for rent over here! Looks like TV is the only hope.

There is a very good Region 2 online store called www.sendit.com (was www.blackstar.co.uk), but unfortunately they don't have it either.

Getting back to the movie, did you like 'The Student Nurses'?

A little late to answer - The Student Nurses wasn't supposed to be a comedy. It was a drama with humor in it. Stephanie Rothman wanted to make a movie about social anxieties and their affect on society. That's why there are no right or wrong sides to issues, just the issues and how the characters deal with them.

I had a friend on facebook say it was like a chick flick with boobs in it. It is pretty much a drama with some comic bits in it,but also involves some hippie/countercultural and political bits in it as well. Bought the SD dvd from Corman's online store. Haven't watched it all yet,but the dvd is letterboxed, but not enhanced. Was sad Shout Factory rejected doing a new dvd release, but I can dream. They supposedly have 3 more years on the deal they have with Corman.
