Help with plot (Spoilers!!)

This question contains spiolers!!

I understand why caroll has to be killed but why did Julie Wardh had to die? It was about the money the killers recieved when Caroll was dead. I just can't figure out why Julie had to die? Can anyone clear that up?

reply

Her husband wants to collect her life insurance. He mentions in the car that he can't do so until Julie's body is released.

Yeah, it was the life insurance. But I can understand your confusion. The plot in this one was slower and more convoluted than other Martino films. I know Julie's husband was not home much, but did that give her the right to go out and start sleeping with two different other guys...and then us audience is supposed to feel sorry for HER?

reply

She didn't go out and started sleeping with two different men, we see Julie sleeping with Jean (Ivan Rassimov) on flashback sequences, he was her former boyfriend, he was exciting but he was becoming too violent and Julie got scared, so she marries Neil, an older quiet man. She never cheated Neil with Jean.
Yes, she had an affair with George. It was part of George, Jean and Neil's scheme, Neil wasn't home on purpose, so Julie was left alone and George could make his number, acting as the best of the two men that Julie knew, He was sexy and exciting like Jean, but he also made her feel safe, like Neal.
Don't forget also, Jean was scaring Julie, she thought he was killing women in the city.
And yes, the audience is supposed to feel sorry for her and for Carol, two victims of three psychopaths who kill people for money.
