DVD OOP, any chance of a rerelease?

As previously mentioned the DVD is out of print. Any chance of a rerelease?

reply

Doubtful. This film is very hard to find and not very popular in the United States except but among cult film watchers. However, Alice, Sweet Alice was out of print for quite some time and became available after many years of being unavailable. But it is on Amazon.com and fetching a price of upwards of $50.

Mya Communication DVDs have stated that they will be releasing it. They are former employees of Noshame, started their own offshoot DVD releasing company. They recently put out a fine copy of Four Flies On Grey Velvet. Should be good!

Any update on this announcement?

This DVD from NoShame is going for alot of cash right now upwards of a crisp one hundred dollar bill right now, and all the MYA re-releases are nothing but bare bones discs, with no mention of a release of this fine giallo flick!

Hi Bsend: I today purchased the DVD in Bangkok released by TRIPLE X FILMS as part of their WORLD MOVIE LEGENDS collection. REGION 0 PAL , ENGLISH DUB or THAI SOUNDTRACK (NO EMBEDDED SUBTITLES), 96 MINUTES approx, 5.1 DOLBY ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN. No other extras. Just watching it, superb print.

Seems MYA are releasing the movie in January of next year. It's going to be under the alternative title of 'Blade of the Ripper'. No idea whether the extras from the NoSHame DVD will be included (hope so), but my guess is the print will be. MYA seemed to have used the Italian NoShame print of 'Island of the Fishermen' for their recent DVD.

No extras from the earlier NoShame release will be on the Mya DVD release - which is a real shame, as they really are great (Edwige Fenech still looks breathtaking). Deep Discount has a flyer which outlines the release.

And whether Mya is, indeed, a 'legitimate' company is still up for debate.

You can still look around for a copy. I went to FYE earlier today, and actually found a copy selling for $10. No one at the store seemed all that interested that it was such a rare find. Thier loss , and my gain.

Doesn't this movie also go under the title of "Blade of the Ripper"? If so, there are plenty of copies on eBay:

The British company, Shameless, has a region free DVD available. Check out Amazon.UK. Full film, with extras.
