Now Optimum are not releasing it this year!!!

Bloody Optimum! Never mind the question "can they release a dvd on time?", now we must ask "can they release it ever?" I just called them a second time today, after not getting a call back from someone as I was told I would, and they said they have taken this film off their release schedule! First they said they would release it last month, then they said April 27th, now "probably not until next year"! So in future when they schedule a film let's not get our hopes up too high. I've written this update on amazon.co.uk.

I called Optimum releasing too and got a woman on the phone who, as this film is concerned, didn't know her arse from her elbow! She put me on hold & asked someone else and said the dvd has been delayed & won't be out this year, no explanation. Thank God our life isn't in their hands!

Actually, as well as this film, Optimum have also delayed another film I was looking forward to, Rider on The Rain with Charles Bronson. It was supposed to be out next Monday and amazon still think it is (-and have it listed for pre-order-) as Optimum can't be bothered to tell them it's been delayed! Optimum just get worse.

Optimum do this kind of thing quite regularly. Jon Whiteley's last film, "The Weapon" (1957), was due for release on April 27th, 2009, but hasn't been released after all. Amazon UK have it for sale at £10:98, though and say it normally despatches within seven to ten days. I have told amazon that this DVD is nowhere to be found on the Optimum website, nor those of HMV Online and Play.com, but amazon has taken no notice of me and continue to offer for sale a DVD that doesn't exist. Incompetant is a mild word to describe them! I have tried three times to upload a comment on the item page of "The Weapon" about the non-release of this DVD, to warn potential customers not to pay for it online, because it doesn't exist. But amazon UK will not publish my comment.
