DVD?

Any idea on when or if a DVD version will be available in the US?

Timeless Media included this as part of a ten disc, twenty film set of spaghetti Westerns called "The Best of Spaghetti Westerns in the Tradition of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." You can find it at their website for $40, but it is available on Barnes and Nobel's site as well as eBay (where I found mine) for between $20 and $30. It isn't bad considering the obscurity of these titles and the fact that they are for the most part in decent quality. The main issue is that most of them appear to be cut (as per IMDb's posted runtimes) but some of the films run longer than what IMDb says. I've seen 8 of the films so far. The two Shanghai Joe films are flip flopped, so be wary. The sequel, which is labeled as the first, is so far the worst film in the set. Most of them have been pretty good so far. The audio is also very clear, which is nice.

CinemaRaiders did an in depth look at the set, complete with stills. As a spaghetti western fan, I recommend this set, If you can get it for less than what TMG is asking, it's definitely a good pickup. I wouldn't buy it for $40 since a lot of the films are cut and none of them are anamorphic widescreen. I've watched all these in VLC and have been able to undo the windowboxing effect by fooling around with the crop/aspect ratio settings.
