Can someone help me with the end please? I don't think I fully understand. So, he married the daughter? Was it because she's blackmailing him? Why doesn't Angela Lansbury seem to care? Just seemed like a really WTF ending.

I don't think that Lansbury looks pleased, but I am sure you don't expect her to be spitting nails about it in public, do you?

We never get to see anyone outside the household react to the switch in the brides, which is a bit of a cheat, but I don't see Lansbury as seeming not to care.

Why are you eying my lemon drink?

I think both Angela Lansbury and son Helmuth are fine with it because I think they both know Konrad intends to simply continue his relations with both of them after the marriage. Lotte blackmailed him into marrying her but with his resourcefulness, he could find a way to sleep with mother, brother, AND sister. After all, Helmuth has the money, because he was the one who inherited when Anneliese and parents died in the car crash, so he'll have to be kept happy for the household to keep running. Though Konrad will have to step up his evasiveness game, because Lotte was one smart cookie.

Am I anywhere near the imaginary cliff?
