Ewa Strömberg

I know the film was made 24 years ago, but I fell in love with the actress who played Linda when I first saw Vampyros Lesbos (this month).
Franco's filmography is new to me, but I'm interested in seeing more of it.

The obvious thing would be that I should like the female vampire more, since I am a sucker for classic and modern vampire stories, but Ms. Strömberg was fabulous in this one.

Would anyone here know anything about her that isn't listed at her profile page?

I would really appreciate any info.

Laura

I think I must have one of those faces you can't help believing.

Very good question. If you look at a lot of these Eurohorror/Eurosleave titles from the 1960s and 1970s, a lot of the filmographies for the actresses seem to vanish into thin air at some point. I think probably what happens is they get married and get out of "the biz." If I ever met Mr. Franco I'd have to ask him about a lot of his leading ladies!

I read somewhere on a swedish website an article by someone who had tried to track her down and ended up in Marbella (if I recall correctly) where he called a number to a Ewa Strömberg and asked her about it but apparently she denied having been involved in any lesbian vampire movies. :-)

reply

I didn't know about that, apmolekyl. Thanks for sharing this info.
So, she probably quit acting, eh?

Yeah, it seems that way. I liked her too. But her legacy lives on in these movies. Also check out Devil Came From Akasava and She Killed In Extacy for more Ewa Strömberg. Devil came... is available on dvd from Image Entertainment (if you´re limited to region 1 playability) and from Oracle Entertainment (if you are limited to region 2). She Killed In... is available from Image Entertainment (on region 1) and from Second Sight Entertainment (on region 2) Happy hunting.

I've got the OOP Synapse edition of She Killed... What a cruddy picture quality, esp. on the opening credits. But in a strange way it added to its "Charm," like you were watching some old stag film. ;-) I think the most logical conclusion is that she got out of acting, probably got married, or maybe even died. (Hopefully not)

reply

Probably so, yes. I´m sorry to hear about the cruddy quality of the disc. I´ve got the english dvd from second sight entertainment and it looks awesome. Pick it up if you can play region 2 dvds.

reply

I have the Image Entertainment disc. It looks pretty good for the most part. I recommend it. Hot women, cool music, great movie.

reply

I thought she was dead. Funny movie, by the way.

reply

I believe I read that she died shortly after "Vampyros Lesbos" was filmed.

reply

Maybe you're thinking about Soledad Miranda, the vampire, who died in a car accident before the film was released.

"Oh Benson, dear Benson, you are so mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence."

reply

The film was made 37 years ago.

Ewa's face is a dead ringer for adult film legend Silvia Saint in this movie. However, her booty is no match for Silvia's which is a work of art.

reply

Oh, you're right -- it was Soledad Miranda I was thinking about, who died right after it was filmed.

Sorry for the confusion.

Ewa Strömberg still lives in Sweden, in Stockholm, but with a different surname since she divorced, and Strömberg was a given name after her first marriage. She used to live in Berlin, West Germany.

She did quit acting, and defenitely didn't die. Shes 72 today. Trivia; she was not a natural blonde, she did that just for the movies. She's a brunette.

reply

"She's a brunette."

That's absolutely right. One can tell she's not a true blonde. Her pussy doesn't match.
