The best movie ever made?

Yes. This is by far the best movie ever made. I love this film. It abstracted my thoughts on life and reveals why we are all alive.

But in all seriousness, this movie was so strange. So very strange indeed. Montages of Turkish castles, moths, and scorpions made me feel like I was on a boring, poorly soundtracked drug trip. In fact, I think I hated this movie. The only reason it was at all entertaining was because I laughed at the obvious shortage of razors in the 70's. Yes, I am talking about their pubic hair, which is all too visible in far too many scenes in the movie.

Don't watch this movie. If you already have, may God have mercy on your soul.

What's wrong with some bush? As long as it's not W that is.

So very true. Some Bush's need pruning, and it's not Soledad's.

I've seen worse movies.

I watched the first 30 or 40 minutes of this, but turned it off because I had to go work the next day. Whack-ass! I didn't hate what I saw, except the tacky late period sunglasses and decor. The kite! Hilarious.

"Linda. Linda."

The creepy hotel guy in the basement? Never figured out what that was. Guess I need to see the rest.

Bush was in back then.

I dunno about this movie. I hated it but I just wanted to keep watching it, then by the end I had a liking for it.

I think thats only because the stage actress died by being bit in the jugular.
Sexiest death ever.

I watched this movie for the first time last night and was pretty dissappointed. I guess because it seems to be the most famous lesbian vampire movie and seems to have broken through the trappings of obscurity that other similiar European films fell into. It had some great moments, but I found myself extremely bored. I also thought some of the scorpion and kite metaphor stuff was a little heavy-handed.

This is a movie that film snobs will claim to like because of it's "substance" Bull crap. This movie is just an attempt at titalation that falls flat on it's face.

Your post is just an attempt to seem clever and superior that falls flat on its face.

As far as pure style goes, Vampyros Lesbos IS the greatest film I´ve seen so far in my life. Everything about it just gels. The impossibly awesome groovy-as-hell music, the editing, the scene-compositions and the slammin´ hotties. It´s also got the coolest looking incarnation of Morpho in any Franco flick, that I´ve seen. I love this film to death!

I can't imagine anyone claiming to like this movie because of it's substance. It's really all style and very little subtance. The style, however, is great. Obviously the soundtrack to this and She killed in Ectasy are amazing and the sets and costumes are pretty great too. The symbolism is definitely heavy handed, but I really don't think this movie was intended to be subtle. I think it's worth watching for the mise-en-scene alone.
