Kishon shouldn't have directed

As in all the films written and directed by Ephraim Kishon, he should have found another director (Moshe Mizrahi?). He was a brilliant play-write and screen-writer, but somehow the timing always seems a bit off, especially in the editing.

Some writers, Billy Wilder, Preston Sturges, etc., did their own work justice, better than anyone else could have done (though Lubitsch did a good job with Wilder's Ninotchka). But Kishon didn't fully understand the medium, and his films might have been better had he not directed them.

Don't lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools.
