Anyone know where the marionettes are today?

I imagine they are in a museum somewhere. I'm curious to know how much they would fetch at auction.

About ten years ago a Santa and Rudolph in bad shape turned up on the pbs series Antiques Roadshow. The materials used broke down easily as they weren't meant to last so very few survive. They were eventually restored. Here's an article on Santa and Rudolph. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/23/arts/television/23rudo.html

Do you think he wants some cheese?

Super neat! I'm sad to hear that they are all gone now. But at least these two were found! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for explaining that. I was wondering why puppets used in The Little Drummer Boy and The Year Without a Santa Claus were not used when sequels to those were made. I can see why those in the second movie may perhaps have been given a makeover, but pictures I've seen from The Little Drummer Boy Book II show a puppet with zippo personality and appeal compared to the original. The program is said to be otherwise very good and was the only one of these specials to be nominated for an Emmy. Perhaps some CGI Deepfake type thing could be done to the film to make the puppets more like the original or even a total remake and this program would gain popularity.
