The ending to the story gives me chills every year

Particulary when the narrator is talking about Santa picking 1 night a year to go out and it shows the tree and the star; I think the quote is "the night of profound love, Christmas Eve" perfect delivery of the line, perfect background music

Im 5 years old again for just a few seconds during that scene, amazing!

Same here! That line about Christmas Eve is so perfect and beautiful, now that I think about it, it's definitely a favorite movie quote.

I totally agree. This special was my favorite as a child...and yes, still is. That ending statement gets me every time.

And by Santa choosing that night, he ensures that he'll never have to spend his wedding anniversary with his wife ever again... well, she had gotten fat by the time he made that decision <grin>

reply

So did he.

Of course Santa got fat. Millions of children around the world leave him milk & cookies. And Santa eats & drinks some at every house. A glass of milk is over 100 calories. And a cookie is over 100 calories too

It is touching because it is the final piece of the puzzle into how it all started. The stuff afterwards in interesting too, where we see people who are modern day versions of Burgermeister and think Christmas sucks *beep*

The one guy at the desk looks just like Tom Bosley to me.

It made me tear up a bit.
