What actors would you choose for a remake?
I think Aidan Quinn or Liam Neeson could play the school teacher, Amy Smart would make a good Rosey, and Jake Gyllenhaal or Colin Farrel the soldier.
" Benny, you silly great fat article"

Al Pacino as the school teacher. Shia LeBoef as the British officer and Madonna as Rosey.
shareColin Ferrell, please, although both boys are nice.
shareI agree with the choices for Charles, but somehow Jones reminds me of Cillian Murphy, and I think Amy Adams for Rosy
shareI love "Boardwalk Empire", and I think two of the actors from that show would be perfect if they ever remade "Ryan's Daughter": Kelly McDonald would make a great Rosy (though she's about ten years older than Rosy should be, McDonald looks younger), and Jack Huston(Anjelica's British-born nephew) would make an excellent Maj. Doryan--much better than Chris Jones. A lot of "Boardwalk Empire" fans "ship" McDonald's and Huston's characters, so they'd love it if they teamed up for this.
Charles: Liam Neeson or Colin Firth;
Father Hugh: Anthony Hopkins
Ryan: Jonathan Pryce
Tim O'Leary: Tim Roth or Clive Owen
Michael: Andy Sirkis
Yeah, they're dead, they're--all messed up.
Charles - Colin Firth ; Rosey - Rooney Mara ( see her pictures from pre-Dragon Tattoo period and you know what I mean) ; Dorian - Michael Fassbender ; Ryan - Tom Wilkinson ; Priest - Max von Sidow or Christopher Plummer ; Michael - Robert Carlyle ( perfect) ; O'Leary - Daniel Craig or Guy Pearce
"I came across time for you Sarah. I love you; I always have."
This is getting ridiculous.
shareJulia Roberts could have nailed Rosie -- she does a mean Irish Brogue....oh, wait...nevrmind.
Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...share
Are you kidding? Lets just go ahead and remake Lawrence of Arabia, the blue max, midnight cowboy and the summer of 42. Remakes are for clueless, low information millennials. We are the last generation who grew up with real actors and saw these classic films first hand.
