Is this film available at all anywhere on any medium?

I really want my own copy ... prefer DVD or VHS tape (PAL) ... been looking for maybe 10 years, no-one seems to carry it - anyone at all?

Please email me if you know anything on this! Thanks, Andrew T.

Hi Andrew,

Ive been looking too - the only thing I can think of to do is tape it off the TV. Channel 5 in the UK has played it but I havent had any luck finding out if they will do so again soon.

Its a mtystery to me why it hasnt gone to VHS.

Regards,
Steven

Dang, I had my hopes up when I saw a reply here! I've never seen it on Aus TV schedules so no hope for me there.

The only time I saw it was in a film club back in the 70s or early 80s, 16mm I think. Let me know if you come across anything, and I will you to!

I've been looking for this film forever as well!!! I saw it on a VHS taped off the TV once, but can't seem to find it since. If anyone could help out that'd be brilliant!

Thanks...

It is for sale from the following web site:
http://www.pimpadelicwonderland.com/videolibraryMR.html

However the DVDs are for region 1 only. Australia is region 5. I am also keen on getting a copy that I can play in Australia but have had no luck.

Good luck!

reply

Thanks for the link chum. A friend has been after that for many years.

I think the only answer for the region problem is to buy a copy and use on a pc with software to make a further copy that removes/changes the region information. I rashly assume that this is ok if it is for your own use!

Regards

reply

Region 4 not 5. But most of our players are region free and its easy and legal to remove region restrictions from your player: ACCC v. Sony.

Try a google search exactly as follows:

"rise and rise of michael rimmer" dvd-r cook

The official R2 DVD release will be sometime this summer.

We're working on it now.

See www.digitalclassicsdvd.co.uk for updates and I'll put up the release date as soon as I have it.

According to Play.com 25 June 2007.So its going to happen then.?

No more dodgy ch.5 recording to put up with.

reply

Yes, 25 June is what we are working towards. Quite likely to be that date.

reply

UK release date is June 25th on DVD. I have a review copy, picture is excellent quality but extras are spartan.

reply

It will include a Directors Commentary by Kevin Billington which I must say is wonderful to listen to, you must check it out he has some great stories.
There will also be a picture gallery and original film poster.
If you order it online at www.voterimmer.co.uk Digital Classics will also send you out a set of limited edition badges commemorating the event.

It's available on DVD as a Warner Brothers Archive Collection release.

reply

It's up on Usenet right now - free for the asking:

It is available for pre-order in the U.S. from Warner Brother's made-on-demand site, warnerarchive.com. I'm looking forward to seeing this elusive film!

Further to other answers, Amazon have it for sale, currently going for £1.40 new, 70p used. Good luck.

If it's a boy, do you think it will look like Rodney? It doesn't matter as long as it's healthy!

reply

also known as :"No Sex Please, We're British" . i love seeing valerie leon and margaret nolan in lingerie.r was it a dream?

reply

It is most definitely NOT a.k.a No Sex Please, We're British, and Margaret Nolan isn't even in it. That is a completely different animal.
