the best UK railway films are...?

With the odd exception railways don't often feature in British movies. The Railway Children is good, as are Oh Mr Porter, Ladykillers and the Titfield Thunderbolt. Which are your favorite British railway movies? What can you recommend?

Brief Encounter, The Lady Vanishes and Murder On the Orient Express are all cracking British films featuring railways.

Don't forget 'Train of Events'...

How about 'Get Carter' (1971).

Okay it's not really about trains, but the films opening titles with Caine's Carter taking the train to Newcastle just turns me cold.

It's amazing and that train was being hauled by a classic 1960's Deltic diesel locomotive.

Trainspotting? :P

I was going to mention Get Carter too. I'm no trainspotter but I understand why the sound of a claggy Deltic warming up is something special. And those trains really could shift.
