Questions re Ann Lancaster and Peter Bromilow

Apparently Ann Lancaster (Ruth) died at the age of 50 the year the movie was made. Does anyone know the cause? Also, does anyone know why Peter Bromilow (Dr. Forrest) was dubbed?

Thanks

I can't amswer either question, but Anne Lancaster died before the film was released and she never got to know how successful it was. Very sad.

Re: Peter Bromilow Often actors are dubbed because directors and producers are displeased with their vocal performance.

That's shame about Peter Bromilow. One of the things I loved most about him was his voice. Do we know who actually did his voice?
