I haven't actually seen the film - I've seen the ending and heard that it's supposed to be v. sad. What I've gathered is there dad dies in the film. But at the end (the sad bit) Jenny Agutter sees her dad and shouts "daddy, my daddy!". Is he dead or is she imagining this?

NO NO NO. you really need to watch the whole film. the father isnt dead. the children dont know what has happened to him but he is in jail. Bobby find out from the newspaper he has been put in jail, but about 15minutes later he arrives home (well in real time) and that where you get the 'my daddy my daddy' scene. it makes me cry!!!
