Great movie

Hey I'm actually the first person to comment about this movie on the message boards sweet!!! anyway I had been waiting to see this movie but couldn't find it anywhere but then a few weeks ago I was at Barnes and Nobles looking at DVDs and found it hidden behind some other DVDs and I was like finally!!! I'm a big Gene Wilder fan and have seen almost everyone of his movies and this was one I had not seen so I bought it and saw it and I thought it was really good, Gene Wilder gives a great performance as usual and Margot Kidder was great too, I did find Gene's Irish accent a little annoying but he did do it well, overall its a good movie to look out for if your a fan of Gene Wilder, I'd say its one of Gene's forgotten films, and I would highly recommend it.

I love the scene where he's on the john, pretending to read the paper, when the cop bursts in on him. He says to the cop, 'What's up?', and teh cop responds, 'Your pants!'

I have an old VHS copy of this movie. Oddly enough, there is a scene where Quackser is outside the foundry and the man is ready to close the gate and warns Quackser that he better not be late for his first day. Quackser responds *beep* off, but the sound was edited out...but you can clearly see what he is saying..no mistake about that. Also, it appears that the film was shot in widescreen, and my video cuts off some of the text in the opening and closing credits, and probably should have been in letterbox format. Is the DVD the same? I would like to get the DVD, but am afraid that the quality will not be any better.

I just watched the DVD from Netflix and the text is not cut off. You also get to hear Mr. Wilder say the 'F' word instead of just reading his lips.
