All the 'F' words!

The Babs character thinks the George Segal is gay - so she repeatedly taunts him with the words "Fairy" "Faggy" and "Fruit."

Hey - we ALL used to use those words - even us "fairies."

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

...and, despite the P.C. police's best efforts, some still use them today.

Those words were all commonly used back in 1970, but it still gave me a bit of a jolt to hear them coming out of Streisand's mouth, someone who is very supportive of the gay community nowadays. I wonder if it makes her cringe at all now?

I remember a line from Abraham Lincoln:
"Your vocabulary is mean and impoverished, but quite adequate to express your thoughts."

I wish those words were still acceptable. I'm gay and strong enough that words don't hurt me. Sticks and stones and all that. Society needs to grow up. No word should be off limits, whether it starts with f or n or c.
