New Yorkers really appreciate this

I remember the strikes and pretty much everything else addressed in the movie. The evocation of NY of the 60s and was spot on. Love this movie which I can watch repeatedly.

Well, I'm glad you liked it; I sure didn't. I'm not a New Yorker but I think in the end they blame New York for all their problems when really I felt most of their problems where their own fault.

Actually, it's more of a criticism of all large cities, not just New York. Remember, the main characters were small town folks, not used to the hustle and bustle of big city life.

I think you're right but since New York is practically a character in the movie, I would be remiss not to mention it specifically. That said, whichever big city the couple was in they would likely have had the same problems. It's not so much that the cities are interchangeable as it is the couple was a idiotic and, as I said before, caused a lot of their own problems.

If they're not putting down the big city, they must be putting down people from small, rural towns. It's true anyone could find themselves lost in a new and different environment; especially one so busy and loud, but I do not think it's true that most people would have similar problems and not be able to manage effectively.

New Yorkers will appreciate this movie better than anyone, considering the main characters are just as annoying as the typical New Yorker. I'm just kidding, this movie is lots of fun.
