Any hope of a 3 hour long cut on DVD?

If you read the participants reflections on this film you hear nothing but deletion after deletion of song after song. The studio decided to make the film shorter because musicals were already proving unbankable (see Hello Dolly and Paint Your Wagon). But is there a copy of the original cut? That would be amazing.

I've always loved this film, even though it is a bit out there. When Babs is inhabiting Melinda, she is a sight to behold. John Richardson is also a sight to behold.

I will never be fully happy with this film unless they bring out an extended DVD that includes the deleted scenes. which includes Jack's song. Why would they cut that out? I also think that Jack should have had a bigger part. His character was quite interesting and it would have been fun to see something romantic between him and Barbra Streisand. (yeah, okay, so they were ex-stepbrother and sister but so what, they were cute together). Plus I would have really loved to have seen more of Jack singing.

I agree this would be great to see, but I do not know how likely it is to happen. If it did, I think this could become a true classic (which it should have become in the first place, really).
