Why was this movie such a bust?

That is a mystery. Glen Campbell was hot and this was the type of movie Elvis Presley made so it should have worked. That was the persona that was being deveoped for him. Sometimes the good elements just don't come together.

I think with the right material Glen Campbell could have been a successful actor but from everything I have read, he was more interested in building his singing career. He has been very successful as a singer and acting was not that high on his list of priorities. He once said he did not feel like he was an actor so he focused on what he was good at and felt comfortable. Check out a relly good TV movie he made a little later called Strange Homecoming with Robert Culp. It showed that he had it in him but one must follow their heart. Sad that he is suffering from Alzheimers now. Best wishes Glen and we all love you.
