re: This deserves to be in the top 250!!!

This is a movie that should be in the top 250, and yet not many people have heard of it.

I remember this from my Childhood here in England. Its a film that will
make you cry at the end. I don't mind admitting it. I have searched
for this film for over 30 years (* The title of it anyway!) And it was only
yesterday a person who uses this website helped me find the
film's title.

That person is - ladyboss1717 - (*That's her code name!!!). I wish to
thank that person in helping me find a classic, classic movie that
could easily be made into a blockbuster - (She helped me on the 1st Nov, 2005 - to find this film). Its got that "Green Mile",
"Captain Courageous" and "Shawshank Redemption" vibe about it. Its that
good. Trust me! Please see it....

Basicially its about - A pregnant white Southern girl (*Who running awazy from her family)
and a black New York lawyer (Who is on the run because the authorites state that he killed someone!), both on the run in rural Texas, meet up in
a boarded-up, abandoned house and realize they both need each other in
order to survive. They eventually would you believe it fall in Love.

You need to see the story to see what I mean about "Eventually fall in
Love"...

If anyone who works in Hollywood. Please,
please seriously reconsider re-making this film. But please do it properly!!

I think we need to have that Director who made - "Shawshank", and "The Green Mile" to take charge of this operation. We need him to make this film come out good!!

Someone tell him about this movie, and make it into a blockbuster!!
Treat with care though!! This is a classic....

As I recall, they did not fall in love. They came to mutually respect each other, and Charlie was more like a father figure to Marlene than a lover.

I saw this movie the first time it was broadcast on NBC way back in 1970. I thought it was absolutely amazing and it made me a Patty Duke fan for life. I'm not too hip on the idea of a remake though...we all know what happens when classics are remade and I would hate to see the beauty of this film tarnished by a remake.
