question for worov

thing that was immediately apparent to me was piano was NOT in front [relative to audience] of conductor [ie not behind his back], ie pianist was actually taking cues from conductor which is not the way things have been done at least since 1973 [and I thought right back to Beethoven's time]

especially here as pianist is playing own composition

any clarification here?
