Why it isn't a real classic

This movie is ambiguous toward Revolution : It sympathize with the guys involved, but it suppose them sharing the same brutality as the exploiting class, ie, take what you can. It focused on a violent struggle since the beginning, when there is already nothing left to save. I don't know why they make the train to derail.. ?

Therefor the title : The most important is the unfolding action, and psychology analysis, ... i think the reality of social fights isn't captured here.

In fact the Clan acts rather for the motive of vengeance, destructive and not proposing anything. It need be compared to J. Fords work, but in my memories it's not so far away from this, - or to the book (Steinbeck).

I liked it a lot.

It's a bit muddled in the messaging. But the atmosphere it creates and some of the performances are worth a look. The historical background remains fascinating.
