Excellent DVD with english subs

I Romania there is an excellent DVD for sale - letterboxed widecreen - excellent picture quality!!! Subs in french and english!

Or just get the German DVD as I did. It is anamorph and has English Subs as well.
Furthermore its Codefree.

You can purchase it at amazon (US website).
The image quality is very good indeed (for a movie made in 1970 behind the iron curtain), but please note the sound is not exactly on par. Not only it's mono, but the fidelity & dynamics are substandard as well.
Now it's not so uncommon for movies made 40 years ago to have a mono sound so normally I wouldn't even bring this up, but the director (Nicolaescu) mentions something about dolby surround on his website, which clearly cannot be the case.
