Well, the great and versatile actor Amza Pellea had a very peculiar voice timbre and a strong accent, which were probably associated for some with his famous comedic character Nea Marin (Uncle Marin). I don't like the dubbing either, it sounds somewhat 'didactic', but you can't have it all, I guess...
