Obviously there were a lot of extras milling about in German uniforms but I clearly saw a Navy Officer wearing 1970's black rimmed glasses at one point.The costume department must have realised that Kriegsmarine officers would have had to have excellent eyesight and the extra should have shoved his specs in his pocket for that scene!!

Another goof is that Willi Schlüter is supposedly a Kapitänleutnant, but instead wears the rank insignia of a Fregattenkapitän throughout the movie.

So Fregattenkapitan is less that Kapitanleutnant (sorry I have no unlaut on my keypad). As a Fregattenkapitan, he would actually be outranked by Hauptmann Kranz.

No it's Leutnant,Oberleutnant,Kapitanleutnant,Korvettenkapitan,Fregattenkapitan,Kapitan Zur See in that order.
