Yes. Carried out by Charles Staffell who was the Pinewood Studios in-house master of optical effects for decades. That sort of shot was very difficult and painstaking to achieve at the time. One character going behind the other in a single shot would be straightforward enough, but for them to then circle across the front was the difficult part.

I caught this movie a few weeks ago on Sky--haven`t seen it in years.This was Roger as he is rarely seen--giving an outstanding performance.I often wondered how his career would have developed if Bond didn`t come along.Roger is so quick to poke fun at his acting style,but the truth is if he is given the right part,he does have the acting chops to pull it off.I could easily see him in Dr Who or Sherlock if the part was right.
